BIOGRAPHIES :  The Face The Music Family
Jeff Leonard began his music career in 1959 as the bassman with the Elads. After the group was signed
by their manager he replaced their original lead, Jimmy Dilks, with Joey Hall and renamed the group
Little Joey And The Flips.

This US R&B vocal group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, comprised Joey Hall (b. 1943; lead), Fred
Gerace (b. 1947; first tenor), James Meagher (b. 1946; second tenor), John Smith (b. 1946; baritone) and
Jeff Leonard (b. 1944; bass). Hall, the lone black member, was from West Philadelphia, while the
remainder of the group was from the Philadelphia suburb of Upper Darby.

The group's top charting hit record was "Bongo Stomp", Joy Records, which went to number 33 in 1962.
The success of this hit landed the group on Dick Clark's: "American Bandstand" in 1962! The Flips also
appeared on "Steel Pier" along with a number of TV appearances.

Little Joey and the Flips were a part of HY-Lit and his Caravan of stars. Performing and touring with
this Rock n' Roll show had the group sharing the stage with the likes of Sam Cooke, Dee-Dee Sharp,
The Isley Bothers, The Orlons, The Hearts and the Skyliners to name a few.

Following the success of "Bongo Stomp" more releases on both Joy and Cameo Parkway records
followed: "Bongo Gully"(CASH BOX Pic of the Week), "Hot Rod", "Lost Love", "It was like heaven",
"Mystery of the night", "Beach Comber" and "Fool, Fool, Fool". The original group disbanded in 1965.

Jeff Leonard ,as a drummer, restructured the "Flips" with talented local musicians. Keeping Joey Hall
as the lead they became the "House Band" for Jerry Blavat's nationally syndicated television show,
"The Discophonic Scene", airing on channel 10. Jeff Leonard remained on the show through 1967 when
he was drafted by the US Army and sent to Vietnam.  For the next 30 years Leonard has stayed involved
with music in some fashion.

When asked about the new studio project Jeff replied,
" I still love playing drums but for my own
enjoyment. I am really excited about being a part of the rehearsal and teaching studios!"

Brian Soares : Staff / Guitar
Brian Soares is a important member of the crew here.  He was a major part of building this studio from
the ground up.  Many of his  design ideas are part of the construction in the studio.

He plays guitar and drums locally with some killer hard rock/metal bands and is always up for a jam.
Brian keeps things running around this place.  He is the go to / utility man here at Face The Music.
Without him, we would have a lot of broken things, half finished projects and way less fun.

Brian is also an award winning wildlife artist and tattoo artist.
